IFAS held four invitational workshops on strategies for linking affordable housing and health and supportive services in collaboration with the U.S. Departments of Health & Human Services and Housing & Urban Development and the A.M. McGregor Home.
The goal was to develop a shared understanding among housing and aging services providers and policy makers of the types of AHPS linkage models emerging across the country. They examined how they worked, their impact on older adults and housing providers, the regulatory and practice barriers impeding their implementation and the information needed to invest in wide-scale replication.
Over 230 housing, health and aging services providers and policy makers-as well as researchers, foundations representatives and consumer advocates from 14 states-attended the four workshops.
